I decided to reinforce the wall and ceiling where the speakers will be mounted. I used 3/4” plywood which the speakers will grab onto (behind the drywall) for some additional support. Sure, there’s some opinion on full enclosures and whatnot, but I won’t get into all of the decision points just yet.
Either way, with a lot of help from the wife, we got all of the speaker supports (minus the subs) installed. It was a painful process, but I’m sure I’ll be glad we did it when a speaker doesn’t fall on anyone’s head lol.
Next up, low-voltage wiring. The CAT-6 and RG6 came today along with the rest of the speakers. Some of the speaker wire also came in but I ran out of time to get started on that. Hopefully I’ll be able to finish up the sub supports as well as my additional projector screw surface tomorrow, so I can start on the dreaded wiring.
Time to get a nice hot shower because I’m COVERED in sawdust. Until next time…
