Well, the time has come, I’ be finishing my BSIT program in April and have decided to give myself a gift…a home theater. We have decided the location for the “Fagnani Theater” (need to come up with a better name), will be in the basement. To keep costs down, I’ll be performing the majority of the work myself and have decided to post my progress here as sort of a historical timeline. Hope you enjoy following along with the progress…just keep the idea fairy thoughts to yourself 🙂

The picture below is a general depiction of what I plan the final product to be (no these aren’t the drawings I sent into the Township for my permit, those were a little more detailed). The bottom of the basement will be the primary theater area which will consist of a projector, 120-150″ screen, and a 7.1.4 or 7.2.4 Dolby Atmos in wall audio system. Behind the theater area will be an office / gaming area for me (and the PS5 I somehow managed to pre-order) along with a row of cabinets and a bar. The basement will also have two “utility” areas for storage and of course the hvac, sump, hot water heater, water meter and breaker panel.

I’ll do my best to keep this up to date on a regular basis, but I won’t promise anything as my focus will no doubt be on family, work, school, and of course the basement work.
